The Code XII Tour
This month only, the venue will be Princes Drive Baptist Church.
There will be two sessions as below:
Rev. Dr. Rob Beamish: Jericho Revisited (Joshua 6:1-27). An opportunity to consider a well known story from the perspective of what is known as a ‘post-colonial’ position. Such a reflection gives space to consider issues of race and power within a story which is really familiar and raises the question of whether our interpretation depends on our own experiences of freedom or oppression.
Dr. Jon Stammers: (First of a two part study). The character of God as revealed by some of the toughest Old Testament passages.
Note: Bible Unzipped is free and open to everyone. It aims to go deeper than you would find in a normal church service, and operates pretty much on the level of a Bible College without the formality, and no exams. Newcomers are always welcome.
For your diary these are the other dates in 2020. All will be at Rhos URC church.
All will be on a Saturday mornings from 9:30 to midday in Rhos URC church with the exception of February 15th. Confirmed speaker so far are Dr. Rob Beamish, Dr. Jon Stammers, Hywel Edwards, Philip Nye, Julia Bartholomew and Peter Cousins.
The four Advent candles are lighted on successive Sundays before Christmas. Opinions differ about the meaning of each candle, and the order!
We’re going with Hope, Joy, Peace and Love. The fifth candle, lighted on Christmas morning, represents Christ.
